Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network (PBN) are celebrating a major haul of award nominations as seven member businesses make the shortlist for the Association of Scottish Businesswomen Awards 2018.

Award winning integrated PR and marketing agency, Volpa leads the way for PBN with four nominations including Business of the Year, Best Performing Team and the Community Commitment Award. Volpa’s CEO and PBN committee member, Tricia Fox has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Business at the awards.

Small City Big Personality, an online magazine showcasing the City of Perth and surrounding area headed up by Perth businesswoman Nicola Martin, has been shortlisted for Most Enterprising Business and Rowan Consultancy, a training and coaching consultancy headed up by Menopause Café Founder Rachel Weiss, has also been shortlisted for the Community Commitment award.

The seventh and final nomination has gone to Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network itself which has been shortlisted in the Best Affiliated Group category.

The growing networking group, whose members are an array of businesswomen from the Perthshire region, from CEOs to one-women bands, is a dynamic and pro-active network that welcomes every woman no matter what stage they are at in their career or business, and is there to support and develop their career progression through networking and shared learning. It enables businesswomen to develop professionally, building contacts and honing their skills as well as providing a platform to promote businesses.

PBN Chairman and founder of The Extraordinary Training Company, Jane Rennie, commented:

“Every member business at PBN is delighted to see so many of our members recognised by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen. I’m particularly pleased to see PBN shortlisted for an award. We are very proud of our business networking group and the various events we organise throughout the year to help provide businesses with opportunities to develop and grow.”

Tricia Fox, CEO of Volpa, commented:

“Absolutely delighted for our fabulous team to be recognised nationally and I’m particularly honoured to have been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Business. I wish all the finalists well and look forward to meeting them all at the ceremony in Dundee this September.”

In 2017, PBN business members were shortlisted for six awards and won two including the Community Commitment award for Glendoick Garden Centre and a Special Commendation in the Business of the Year category for Fairways. This year’s PBN nominees are hoping to build on that number.

The winners will be announced at the ASB Awards at a glittering event at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee on Friday, September 21, 2018.
