What advice would you give to your younger self?
Go into writing rather than just fall into whatever was there.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do?
Tell my mother the hospital didn’t think dad was going to survive.

Hardest thing you’ve had to give up?
Cigarettes

Could you save someone’s life if they were dying in the street?
I would have a damm good try, although my first aid quals are a bit outdated

What keeps you awake at night?
The things I want to write about to make sure local people know what is going on in their area. Unfortunately I don’t always remember the next morning.

And your biggest critic?
Me, I always feel I could be doing more
