Our featured member this month is Claire McFarlane, owner of the Grampian Hotel.
Claire and her husband Duncan took over the hotel in December 2006. After carrying outa massive refurbishment they relaunched the hotel the following May. Eight years on, the hotel continues to go from strength to strength.
There are 12 en-suite rooms with first class furniture, super king sized beds, and crisp white bed linen to ensure a good night’s sleep. The Castles Restaurant offers hearty home cooked meals made from Scottish produce cooked to order in an informal setting. It is open for lunches and evening meals and has become renowned locally for its high teas.
The hotel is a popular wedding venue with Claire doing all wedding and event co-ordination. She loves nothing more than helping couples at each stage of their journey from the initial event booking through to the big day. When not doing weddings, the hotel holds lots of special events in the function suite, including birthday parties, anniversaries, christenings and even baby showers.
During the week the function room is used for meetings and conferences for up to 150.
