Yvonne Barrie, PBN Chair, said “We’ve had a fantastic response from our members and our Spring Exhibition offers an excellent opportunity not only for them but also enables PBN to raise the public’s awareness of the various women led businesses in Perth & Kinross that are part of our networking organisation. We are anticipating that this will become an annual event as Perth Concert Hall provides an ideal venue, being very accessible to all in the town, so we’re hoping for a good visitor attendance to show support for these businesses which play a vital role in our local economy”. With shopping and relaxation sessions under one roof, this is the event to take the stress out of shopping. An ideal opportunity to find that extra special Easter gift for someone and pamper yourself at the same time! | |

| A magnificent sum of £2,854 was raised by PBN throughout 2006 – 2007 for their chosen charity, “Open Minds – ENABLE”. The cash was raised through a number of events including a Charity Auction at the Annual Dinner Dance and at the Network’s November meeting at McEwens of Perth when McEwens contributed 5% of the sales that evening to the charity. The cheque was presented to Fiona McGillivray, service manager with the charity, by Anne Bunting, PBN Chairperson. | The Founders' Award | 25/04/2007 |
| The four Founding Members of PBN, Rhona Gethins, Jackie Brierton, Iris Anderson and Lynne Blair were keen to contribute to the 10th anniversary of PBN and decided that the most appropriate way to mark the occasion was for an annual award to be established. With so many awards available for women in business, they wished this to be different and decided that the award should be presented annually to the person who had contributed the most in any way or form to PBN. The brief for the prize was that it had to be commissioned from a female in business in Perthshire and Jane Woodford, trading as Kira Kira ceramics at Kinnaird, Perthshire, met the criteria. For the award, Jane created “The Rising Star Lustre Bowl” which features a new moon to mark the beginning of PBN and some rising stars to represent the winners. Iris Anderson, first Chairperson of PBN, who presented the award said, “As a one-off this year, the Founders have chosen the winner of the award but in future years, the winner will be decided by the PBN Committee. The first recipient of The Founders’ Award has been chosen for their contribution to growing and developing Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network in the first ten years and I am pleased to announce that the winner is our first administrator and later chairperson of PBN, Wendy Birse”. | |
