Striving for Excellence: Helen Smout, CEO of Culture PK

The multi-million pound project to transform Perth City Hall and bring the legendary Stone of Destiny to the Fair City of Perth has been hitting the headlines worldwide this year.

And one women who knows more than most about the grand design for Perth’s cultural offerings is Helen Smout, Chief Executive Officer of Culture Perth & Kinross.

She will be talking about her career and sharing some fascinating insights into the project when she addresses members of Perthshire Businesswomen’s Network this month as part of the ‘Striving For Excellence’ inspirational talks series.

There are still some tickets left for this fantastic event on Tuesday, October 17 from 6-8pm in Perth Museum and Art Gallery which is open to members of the public (both men and women) as well as PBN members.

Helen will also look back at CPK’s highly successful first year which has seen footfall rise in Perth and Kinross’ museums and key libraries. She will also update members about the progress of the ambitious projects to transform Perth City Hall and Perth Museum and Art Gallery into modern cultural venues better able to showcase the county’s incredible collections to their best advantage.

She will also talk about her career path which has seen her progress through the public sector ranks to a position overseeing million pound budgets and hundreds of staff.
