Those of you who attended our June event enjoyed a tour of the Black Watch Museum, which is now home to the Weeping Window Poppies display.
Poppies: Weeping Window by Paul Cummins, Artist, and Tom Piper, Designer, opened at The Black Watch Castle and Museum on 30th June and will run until 25th September 2016, specially presented with 14-18 NOW to mark the centenary of the First World War.
Weeping Window is a cascade comprising several thousand handmade ceramic poppies seen pouring from a high window to the ground below; Wave is a sweeping, which can currently be seen at Lincoln Castle, is an arch of bright red poppy heads suspended on towering stalks. These two sculptures, by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper are now brought to audiences at venues across the country as part of the 14-18 NOW programme.
