Bringing Learning at Work Week to Small Businesses

River Park Learning and Development founder Jennifer Lindsay-Finan, has launched the UK’s first Learning at Work Week programme of one day workshops aimed to develop the skills of small business owners and entrepreneurs in Tayside.

Learning at Work Week runs from 16th – 22nd May and is normally the preserve of large organisations and their employees. Jennifer is delivering interactive learning and development opportunities of corporate quality, but at a rate that is affordable, bringing learning into the community.

Jennifer uses the same techniques and expertise as global brands such as Coca Cola, including a focus on ‘social learning’, where participants are invited to join an exclusive, private online platform to discuss their learning, access additional support and continue developing their skills throughout the week and beyond.

Jennifer Lindsay-Finan, Associate CIPD, said:

“During Learning at Work Week, large organisations arrange a multitude of learning opportunities for their staff.  However, small businesses, limited by time and available budgets, cannot access the same quality of learning opportunities, particularly by experienced trainers and in their local area.

I established River Park Learning and Development to offer a trusted alternative for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and have incorporated all my corporate delivery expertise, along with the high expectations naturally found in larger organisations, to develop appropriate opportunities that are accessible for all.

This first programme will be held in the Blairgowrie Business Centre but will be rolled out across Tayside on a demand-led basis.”

Jackie Brierton from GrowBiz, the local enterprise support organisation, said:

“As a GrowBiz client, Jennifer has spent time understanding the needs of micro-enterprises and small businesses, and has developed an excellent reputation for quality and professionalism.

This innovative programme of learning opportunities is a first for the area. The equivalent training workshops for bigger businesses can cost £500 or more, and Jennifer is offering the same quality at very affordable prices. Anyone who wants to run a successful business needs to invest in their personal development, and this programme is an ideal opportunity to develop valuable practical skills and knowledge.”

Early bird rates of £50 per day are subject to a booking deadline of 22nd April 2016, after which, rates are £60 per day.
