So with Christmas looming ever closer have you posted those special gifts to loved ones? Do you know what your deadline is and what you can and cannot send? Don’t worry if you don’t as we know someone who does ….. Pharos Parcel.
As shopping online goes up and up, so too does the number of parcels in our already overcrowded delivery system. So please, please get busy with that brown paper!
Pharos Parcel Recommended Posting Dates
Australia, New Zealand, Far East and Asia – Collection on Friday 12th December
Canada and USA – Collection before Tuesday 16th December
Europe – Collection before Tuesday 16th December for Spain, Ibiza, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Eastern Europe.
Collection before Thursday 18th for Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands
UK – Last gasp on Friday 19th December but much better posted the week before.
Please do be aware that none of these ensure guaranteed delivery before Christmas and we always recommend, the earlier the better!
Is your gift fragile or unusually shaped? Are you wondering how you will get it to its destination in one piece? Pharos Parcel gives us some tips on how to package our parcels:
- Packing is a task that dictates more is definitely better! More cushion, more boxes, more tape!
- If it’s fragile then double box it. If it rattles, it needs more padding!
All carriers use temporary staff at this time of year and the huge volume means parcels aren’t handled as carefully as we would all like, it’s just a simple fact and one we can’t avoid. Pack up, and make sure that your loved one receiving the gift will be happy!
And finally ….. Prohibited Items.
Unfortunately, we still live in a world where people send things they shouldn’t by post and liquids are a big security risk nowadays. If you are sending parcels beyond Europe they will be security scanned and stopped and destroyed if found to contain any liquids or aerosols. This includes creams, nail varnish sets, perfume or aftershave.
You can find a full list of Pharos Parcel prohibited items here.
With this guide from Pharos Parcel we should all be able to deliver the magic that is Christmas.
